Whether you're into the food, the art, the music, or the traditions, there's something worth showing up for.
Farmers Markets
Stock up your Ludlow's kitchen with fresh produce and local goods at the Farmers Market in neighboring Tower.
Every Friday starting in June, Tower's mini-park fills up with locals and vendors offering fresh fruit and vegetables, locally grown meats and eggs, wild rice, baked goods, maple syrup, jams, hot sauces, honey, and other home-canned goods.

You can also browse incredible work from local crafters, carvers, photographers, fiber artists, jewelry makers, and more. It's a great spot to find one-of-a-kind gifts and unique pieces for your home.
The nearby city of Cook hosts a summer Farmers Market every Saturday in City Park downtown. You'll find heavenly baked goods, local produce, and beautiful handmade artisan crafts.
July 4th Celebration
The city of Tower knows how to throw a great Fourth of July party. Thousands flock to this small city of 500 to enjoy their annual festivities, including a Grand Parade and Kiddie Parade on Main Street, live music, a pancake breakfast, food vendors, a 10K and 5K road race, kids' games, and a spectacular fireworks show on the hill.
You can also catch a showstopping fireworks display without ever leaving the island. Grab a beach chair or paddle out on the water and settle in for a great show right over Lake Vermilion.
Harvest Moon Festival
This three-day event in Ely is an art lover's paradise. Held each September, the festival showcases original artwork from some of the best local artists, featuring everything from pottery to woodcrafts and paintings.

The food is also a huge draw, with a food court serving up pulled pork, Asian cuisine, baked goods, and more.
Blueberry Art Festival
Ely's Annual Blueberry Art Festival in July draws 30,000 to 40,000 festival-goers across three days. With 237 artist and crafter booths featuring watercolor and acrylic art, pottery, woodcraft, and much more, there's plenty to explore.

Come hungry. A large beer garden and countless food vendors serve up freshly baked blueberry pies, burgers, brats, pork chops on a stick, kettle corn, waffles, and everything in between.
Northwoods Kids Fishing Derby
Kids, this one's for you. In June, Ely hosts their annual Northwoods Kids Fishing Derby for ages 6 to 11. Kids get to show off their fishing skills, learn about water ecology, enjoy hands-on skills training, and take part in a number of other kid-friendly activities.
Cook's Music in the Park
Bring a blanket or a few lawn chairs and get ready to enjoy a great lineup.

The city of Cook hosts free, family-friendly concerts every Wednesday evening throughout the summer at the gazebo in downtown Cook.
Lake Vermilion Community Bash
The Tower-Soudan Historical Society invites everyone each summer to their Lake Vermilion Bash on the grounds of Gruben's Marina at Arrowhead Point. This lakeside event celebrates the people, stories, and traditions that define the Lake Vermilion area.
Explore historical exhibits, enjoy a wine tasting, trivia games, a silent auction, raffle prizes, and great food. It's a wonderful way to connect with the history and community that make this corner of Minnesota so special.
Lake Vermilion Antique and Classic Boating Show
This free annual event is a local favorite. Head to the west side of the lake at the Landing Restaurant to check out a beautiful lineup of antique and classic boats on display. You can chat with the owners, take a closer look, and even vote for your favorite to win the People's Choice Award.

With great food, live music, and a laid-back lakeside atmosphere, it's an easy afternoon to enjoy with family and friends. Proceeds support the Lake Vermilion Association and their work to protect and preserve the lake.
Lake Vermilion Traditional Pow Wow
Experience an authentic Pow Wow near Tower, where the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa welcomes the community to join in the celebration. Watch traditional dances and enjoy spirited competitions as dancers show off their skills, competing for prizes and honors.

This is a truly one-of-a-kind cultural tradition and a gathering of community, music, and dance you won't soon forget.
