Finnish Sauna
The tradition of sauna has been kept alive and well on Vermilion by the area’s large Finnish population. In fact, about thirty percent of Vermilion residents have saunas in their homes or boathouses.
Finnish saunas are typically kept between 175 degrees and 210 degrees F with a humidity level between 10 and 15 percent. Because of this low humidity, Finnish saunas are considered “dry,” compared to steam rooms or steam baths.
Ludlow’s guests are free to enjoy the sauna.
