Our resort started almost 70 years ago on a pine covered island on Lake Vermilion in northern Minnesota. We have grown to include cottages on our south shore (accessible by car) and our north shore (accessible by boat). If your vacation is in a cottage on the island or north shore, we shuttle your luggage while a staff member introduces you to Ludlow's and escorts you to your cottage.
The island has everything for your great northwoods vacation. Our waterfront has a safe swimming beach, covered dockage for boats, a sundeck, canoes, kayaks, paddleboats, hydrobikes and our famous climbing rock, the water "ice berg". Our children's activities begin here daily.
We rent a variety of boats with 25 to 115 horsepower motors to give you great choices for fishing and exploring.
Our auto accessible mainland cottages our sports complex with tennis, indoor racquetball and a fitness center. It also features our 34' Chris Craft Constellation playhouse for kids.
Fishing clinics are hosted weekly and Lake Vermilion is known for Walleye, Bass, Muskie and Northern Pike. Guides are available, but please reserve them in advance.
