| Mark and Sally Ludlow have been operating Ludlow's Island Resort for 34 years. Both Ludlows have resort life in their veins. Mark is a second-generation resort owner while Sally spent her youth at her parent's cabin on the lake.
A collection of vintage boats has been a passion of Mark and Sally's for many years. The water taxi (Ludlow's shuttle) is a 1965 Wood lap strake Cruiser, there is a vintage row boat for rowing and two inboards-- a 1947 Stan Craft and a 1949 Chris Craft. The resort playground features a 1954 Chris Craft Constellation playhouse.
Mark has been a past president of the Minnesota Resort Association and was named Resorter of the Year in 1986. He is one of the founding members of the Distinctive Lodges of America-- a small group of resorts known for their commitment in providing vacations of distinction with a high level of service. Members of this group average over 40 years of family experience in owning and managing their resorts and lodges.
Sally is the founding president of the local hospital foundation raising money to keep one of a handful of rural Minnesota hospitals "healthy." This year in 2007, the foundation was successful in passing the goal of a million dollar endowment for the hospital.
Mark and Sally also operate B.I.C. Realty (www.bicrealty.com) specializing in recreational, residential and commercial property. Sally started the company in 1972 and is proud of her staff of seven associate brokers and two sales associates.
Mark and Sally Ludlow of Ludlow's Island Resort were recently honored as the 2005 Property of the Year by the Minnesota Association of Innkeepers.
