| Many of us grew up in a time when we could roam our neighborhoods, our city streets, go to the local community center, the corner grocery store, and play anywhere without a concern for safety. Today, few of those things seem possible with our children. Ludlow's is a special place for children. Our private island provides the opportunity for children to once again roam freely exploring our pathways, having fun in our playhouse, climbing the large rocks and fishing from the shore. Kids can come to the lodge, go to the game room, and get a snack from our pantry on their own time and at their own pace. Only registered guests are allowed on our property. People interested in visiting the resort are welcomed, but always accompanied by a member of our staff. Come to Ludlow's where your children can be free to explore and be kids again.
 Children's Activities
We offer a variety of activities. As a private resort you may participate in all or as few as you wish. They are offered only to our guests. Activities last from 1 to 3 hours.
- Playground Treehouse on the island and our 1954-34' ChrisCraft cruiser playhouse by the tennis courts.
- Pontoon tours: include viewing of beaver lodges, eagle's nests, waterfowl and local history.
- Nature hike: take a 1/2 hour pontoon ride to the Black Bay Hiking Trail and learn about native plants.
- Hot dog roast
- Pizza and movie night
- S'mores on the beach
- Fishing Derby: Catch and release fish off our docks -- last summer's champion caught 54 fish in the 20 minute derby. Prizes for all.
- Tree planting: Plant native white pines with your name attached. Come back and watch them grow!
- Water safety classes: We emphasize boat and canoe handling.
- Water-skiing and tubing: We have the equipment and will help with instruction.

The Water Front
We have a sandy beach for swimming, away from boats.

Gourmet Pantry
Open 24 hours. Our convenience grocery store has a variety of groceries including dairy products, frozen entrees, tackle, personal toiletries and picnic items. We have woks, ice cream makers, waffle irons and food processors to sign out at no charge. More complete grocery stores are found in nearby Cook (8 miles).
